This window is displayed by clicking on the Materials Transfer option in the Stock menu
Material transfers record financial movement of items to and from accounts rather than physical movement between locations.
The upper grid defines the header for the M/T and the lower grid the items in the list.
This table can be sorted by Number or Description by clicking on the [A/Z] button
Upper grid
1. Click "+" to open dialog and add a new record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)
2. The M/T no will initially be blank and will be assigned when the record is saved. It will have the site code as its prefix.
3. If the record is archived, its location will be shown.
4. The date of the transfer defaults to the current date, when it was created.
5. The MT type can be one of the following. Each of these may have slightly different parameters which will be displayed on the edit dialog when required.
a. To stock
b. From stock
c. Direct charge
d. Rental
e. Profit sale
f. Loss sale
g. Combine (several items into one)
h. Break (item to its components)
i. Consignment.
6. In
most case a to and from stock account code and account number are required. eg
For P and L types the sale price is entered.
For B and C kinds Model number and quantity are required instead of the second
account. a model number
7. The Total value is calculated from the cost of the items in the list. (a currency and exchange rate can also be specified for some types)
8. Invoice to is the code for a supplier.
9. Remarks can be entered and the company selected from the drop down.
Lower grid
10. Click "+" to open dialog and add a new record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)
11. Enter the sequence number using a decimal place if required to insert. Use [123] to resequence.
12. The model number can be entered or looked up (for a new record). Once a record is saved the model number can not be changed but must be deleted and the correct model number added as a new record.
13. Quantity and cost are entered and a unit cost is calculated.
