This window is displayed by clicking on the Restore Model Nos. option in the File menu.
This form is used when the details for a model number become corrupted. The data can be copied from a backup or from a copy of the stock.dbf table sent from another site.
This form is modal. You must close it before you can access other forms or the menu
1.
The file name to be used is entered or the [Backup database]
button clicked to use a file dialog to locate it.
Unlike the Restore file or selected records options, this option allows you to
copy model no data from a table that is not a backup from your own database.,
hence the full file name should be entered.
2.
After entering the file click on [Compare]. This will generate
the model number comparison data. Only model numbers with different values are
displayed.
However if there are 2 records with the same model number, it may be that one
is different but the comparison shows they are the same.
3. Select the model number of interest from the left list.
4. The right dialog will show the current values and the values in the selected file. Where they are different the value will be highlighted in Yellow and the [<-] button will be enabled.
5. Click on the [<-] button to copy an individual value or use the {Copy All …] button.
6. You can Save specifically or automatically if you move to another record.
7. You can only restore original values before the record is saved. Ie while the yellow highlighting is displayed.
