This window is displayed by clicking on the Rentals option in the Rentals menu

The top table can be sorted by Number or Description by clicking on the [A/Z] button, the lower left table by date or type and reference.

Rental records are in general created automatically when rental items are added to MSRs, Manifests, Road Manifests, Consumptions and Recoveries.

If and item in these lists have the rental flag (or “Track rentals”) set to Y the item’s movement will be recorded in these tables. Although you can delete items in these tables, they may be recovered using the “Validate and recalc” option on the Rental menu.

The top grid displays the Rental Header. A record is created when a rental item is added to an MSR. Some of the fields in this record can be edited but new records can not be created directly.

1.      Click "▲" on the top grid to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record. Although records can be added here, the Recalculation and Validation routine will report errors if the corresponding MSR item does not exist.

2.      The record and the log and inventory records that belong to it are identified by the Delivery Road Manifest number/Model number combination. Do not change either of these manually or you will lose the link to the other records.

3.      The well name and supplier are automatically copied from the Road Manifest header or item.

4.      The delivery date is also copied but can be changed.

5.      The return date is manually entered and is important for tracking down overdue rental items, which may be wasting money.

6.      The day rate is likewise manually entered here, with the cost in the MSR reflecting the replacement cost.

7.      The status is automatically updated as items are delivered or returned to suppliers using Road manifests.

8.      The delivered, returned, consumed and total on rent values are calculated from the road manifests that affect the delivery and return of items and consumption records.

The lower left grid displays the Rental Log for the selected model number and Road Manifest. Records are added when a rental item is delivered, moves or returned via a road manifest, Moved by a manifest or consumed or recovered.

9.      Again you can edit the log records for the particular item but any additions or changes may be negated if a recalculation is performed.

10.  The date is copied from the manifest, road manifest or consumption record.

11.  The type is similarly based on the above as is the reference which is a manifest number or for a consumption, the well name.

12.  The From and To locations are also copied with deliveries having a blank From and returns a blank To. Otherwise it is a base or well location name.

13.  The action may a Delivery or Return for a Road manifest, a movement for a manifest or a base to base road manifest or a consumption. The type of action determines changes in the inventory at the To and From locations and the quantities in the header.

The lower right grid reflects the inventory for the model number and Road Manifest at each location and is updated when a rental log record changes.

14.  The inventory shows the quantity at each location and is automatically calculated. A zero quantity for a location implies that the rental items have passed through that location.
