This window is displayed by clicking on the Rack Inventory option in the Inventory menu
The Rack inventory is a more detailed breakdown of the inventory at a Base, giving the position of items in the location rather than just the total. It does however take more effort to maintain this database, since it is not automatically updated by the program. It can be used to check against a physical stock take and can be compared with the base inventory.
The upper grid displays the racks at different locations and the lower grid the items held in each of them.
The upper table can be sorted by Location and then by one of Sequence, rack or position by clicking on the [A/Z] button.
The lower table can be sorted by sequence or model number.
On the upper grid
1. Click "+" to open dialog and add a new rack record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)
2. The location is selected from the drop down.
3. The sequence number is entered manually and may include a decimal place. The [123] button can be used to resequence back to integers.
4. The rack, position, number and level fields are used to identify the rack, with the first 2 of these selected from dropdowns.
5. The display can be restricted to a particular location by selection it from the dropdown.
6. [Remove details with no headers] is used to clean up cases where detail records exist after the header has been deleted.
7. [Stocktake] will take a snap shot of the current inventory balance for the selected location and save it against the current date in the stocktake tables.
8. [Re-export] will add the current rack and its details to the export list.
On the lower grid
9. Click "+" to open dialog and add a new item record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)
10. The sequence number will default to the next integer value but using a decimal place and the [123] button allows you to insert into a different position.
11. The model number can be entered or looked up.
12. The quantity and remarks can be entered.
