Compare Import with Current value

This window is displayed by clicking on the Compare button in the View imports screen.

It will compare the values in the current database with the values being imported from the other site.

1. The table for the record and its key value are displayed.

2. A message indicating if the records are the same or different is shown.

3. You can restrict the record in the table to only those where there is a difference.

4. The table shows the following columns

a. The field number

b. The field name

c. The value in the current(ie your database)

d. ? - - whether the fields mathc, either “=” or “<>”

e. Value exported from remote site for you to import.

You should carefully compare the values, where they are different and decide which is likely to be correct. You may need to contact your opposite number at the remote site to sort this out.

You then process the import by clicking on on of the 3 buttons at the toop.

5. Keep your value. This will not change your value but export it to the other site so they can import it.

6. Import the new value – update your database with new value and send success message to remote site.

7. Next – skip to next unimported record without making any decision.
