This window is displayed by clicking on the Boat Manifests option in the Manifests menu

The window is divided into 2 sections. The top section defines the manifest header, seen here in edit mode.

The lower section is used to enter the details of the 4 manifest details tables.

This table can be sorted by Manifest Number, Source, Destination, Carrier or Peparture date by clicking on the [A/Z] button or the column headings.

The manifest header

1.      Click "+" to open dialog and add a new manifest (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)

2.      When adding a manifest the number will initially be blank and will be generated when the manifest is saved.
Each site has a unique character prefix and the next number in sequence for the site will be assigned.
Once the manifest is saved the source and destination types and codes cannot be changed. This ensures that inventory does not get out of sync with the manifests.

3.      The manifest source and destination types are select from the drop down from one of Base, Well, Supplier (depot) or Carrier

4.      For the selected type, a code is selected from the drop down. The entries in this drop down are controlled by flags in the underlying reference table, which will indicate if the code is current and available for boat manifests. The description for the selected code is displayed.

5.      The code for the contact at the source location is selected from the drip down (except for wells)

6.      The destination type, code and contact are defined in a similar way.

7.      The carrier code and contact are also selected from drop downs.

8.      If the manifest has been archived the archive year is displayed, otherwise it is blank.

9.      The company name uses the system default but can be changed to another one defined in the company table by selecting from the dropdown list.

10.  The loading and departure date are entered. The departure data is required since it is used to build an index.

11.  The voyage number and wharf can be entered.

12.  An optional remark can be added.

13.  The pointing hands icons are used to increase and decrease the size of the upper grid.

14.  The [Copy] button will copy the entire contents of an existing manifest to the current one.

15.  The [Move Items] button allows for a bulk move of items between the different manifest locations within the manifest, eg container to deck cargo, or to bulk delete items.

16.  The [Transfer] button only applies to Well to well transfer manifests. It will create a manifest to transfer the current inventory of the source well to the destination well.

17.  The [Copy Items] button is used to copy selected items from a different manifest (or several) into the current one, optionally deleting them from the original manifest. This can be used to split one manifest into two, or to copy items from road or air manifests.

18.   The [Re-export] button will add the current manifest and the details of its child tables to the export list.

19.  The [Restore deleted] button displays deleted records for the header and allows them to be undeleted. A similar button on the lower grid will restore deleted records to the selected manifest item list.

20.  If the archive option has been used, the Archive button drop down and check box determine whether the details of archived manifests are displayed. (see Archive tutorial)

21.  The radio buttons in the lower grid are used to select which child dataset is displayed.
The shading of the buttons and the grids are co-ordinated to make recognition of which child dataset is displayed more obvious.

22.  Click "+" to open dialog and add a new manifest item .(click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)

23.  The sequence number defaults to the next integer but can be edited to reorder using decimal places. The [123] option resequences these numbers as integers.

24.  When adding, the model number can be entered or looked up in the model number search dialog. Once the record is saved, the model number can no longer be changed. If incorrect, the record must be deleted and a new record added using the correct model number. The corresponding nomen and units are displayed.

25.  The quantity is entered.

26.  The location of the item is selected from a drop down. This si one of Source, Carrier or Destination.

27.  The container number, where the item is held, is entered or looked up by clicking on the button.

28.  Indicate whether the item is an inventory item.
If set to Y the program checks the source inventory for sufficient quantity of the item (if the source is an inventory location), if the location is Carrier or Destination.
If appropriate, the source inventory is decreased and the carrier or destination inventory increased by the quantity entered.
When a record is edited and the quantity changed a similar check is made. If the quantity decreases the destination inventory is checked for sufficient quantity.

29.  The supplier is selected from the drop down

30.  For dangerous goods, check the box and enter the UN number and Class.

31.  Remarks may be added.

32.  When the record is saved, dialogs appear displaying the inventory changes or a warning if insufficient inventory is available.

33.  You can change the location of all the items at once by clicking on the [Change location] button and entering the location code (S,C or D).

Deck Cargo

34.  Click "+" to open dialog and add a new manifest item .(click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)
The sequence, model number, quantity, inventory and remarks fields are as above.

35.  The container check box indicates if the item is a container. If so, its contents would be entered in the Container contents table.

36.  The total weight, volume can be entered.

37.  For sealed containers, a seal number and verification name can be entered

Again, before the record is saved, the inventory is checked and changes or warning messages displayed.

Bulk Cargo

The bulk cargo table is identical in format to the container contents table but is used for bulk cargo and has blue shading..

Workboat

The work boat manifest is used to record bulk contents on the workboat itself rather than shipped bulk items.

38.  For commonly carried items, the weight on arrival, discharged, loaded are entered and the departure weight calculated. The volume loaded can also be recorded.
As well as the standard items, a user defined item is available.

39.  The type and number of non bulk items in sacks can be recorded for each pod

40.  Bulk liquid movements and volumes are also recorded.

41.  The [Copy Arrivals] button is used to copy the arrivals figures from another manifest as the departure values for the current one. Usually the manifest for the previous journey of the same workboat is the one copied.
