Backing up

This window is displayed by clicking on the Backup option in the File menu. It is also displayed when you shut down the program.

It creates a daily snapshot of the data in a folder on the same disk, another disk or preferably on a server that is physically distant from the DIPS data PC.

This will protect against a failure of the DIPS PC and also allow mistakes to be corrected. Ideally this should at least be run at the end of every day at every site. It is better if only one PC is accessing DIPS at the time.

This form is modal. You must close it before you can access other forms or the menu

1. The main backup directory is defined in the Set directories option and the subdirectory used for the back uop corresponds to the day of the week. Hence a rotating 7 day set of backups can be maintained.

2. The tables are displayed as they are backed up.
