This window is displayed by clicking on the [BOM] button on the Well edit form.

The left hand grid shows the activities in the drilling sequence.

The right hand grid shows the bill of materials for the selected activity.

On the left grid

1.      Click "+" to open dialog and add a new Activity record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)

2.      The next integer sequence number is automatically used to add the new sequence to the end of the list.
Decimal places can be used to insert a sequence at a different position or to move it later when editing.

3.      The activity description is selected from the dropdown. An activity must already be defined in the Activities option before it can be selected.

4.      If decimal sequence numbers have been used the [123] button can be clicked to resequence them as whole numbers.

5.      Reports for this table are

a.       A BOM for the whole well

b.      The drilling sequence

c.       Load out check lists

Deleting an activity will also delete all the items in its BOM.

On the right grid

6.      Click "+" to open dialog and add a new BOM record (click "▲" to open an existing record to edit, and "-" to delete a record)

7.      The next integer sequence number is automatically used to add the new sequence to the end of the list.
Decimal places can be used to insert a sequence at a different position or to move it later when editing.

8.      The model number can be entered directly or looked up by clicking the adjacent button.
The nomen, size, type and class  will be copied from the stock list.

9.      The quantity is entered.

10.  The priority, load out and status are entered. These can be used to select items in the reports.

11.  The [Set] will make the current status the default and the [Use] button will copy the current default tot the status field. This can save a fair bit of typing for a large BOM.

12.  A remark about the item can be added up to about 15 lines long.

13.  If decimal sequence numbers have been used the [123] button can be clicked to resequence them as whole numbers.

14.  The [Multi] button allows you to change the priority, load out and/or status for a number of items at the one time.

15.  The [Re-export] button will add the BOM items to the export list, in cases where the previous export was not successful.

16.  The [Add missing] button used to scan the BOM for the well and ensure that each item has a corresponding activity in the drilling sequence.

17.  The reports for this grid list the items for the selected Activity only. A dialog will be displayed for you to select the sort order for the list.
To get a BOM for the whole well, use the report options on the left grid.

Changing multiple items in BOM

Clicking the [Multi] button displays the following dialog.

This dialog is modal. It must be closed before any other forms can be accessed.

This is a powerful option to allow multiple changes to BOM items in one operation.

Any or all of the following values can be set to a new value – priority, load out or status.

1.      If Priority is to be changed – tick the check box and enter the new value

2.      If load out is to be changed, tick the checkbox and selected True or False for the new value

3.      If Status is to be changed tick the check box and enter the new value.

4.      Move the items to be changed from the left list to the right list using the [>] or [>>] buttons or by double clicking.
(see Dual list dialogs in the User guide for more details on these sorts of dialogs.)
In this case, order is not important.

5.      Click ok to process changes.
